Foxtail Trail
The return of our celebrated Foxtail Trail. Come and toast our little pollinators with one of the cocktails prepared at participating establishments.
The Flying FoxTail returns from 6 June – 6 July at bars, cafes and restaurants across Cairns and Kuranda, FNQ. Discover bat-themed cocktails at your favourite places and thank a bat!

Try a bat-themed cocktail or mocktail and get your passport stamped at each venue. Discover why you should thank a bat as you drink these heavenly concoctions.
When visiting Kuranda venues, why not visit BatReach Kuranda and meet some bats up close before (or after) your FoxTail experience? Ask the Visitor Centre for more information.
Did you know flying-foxes and some smaller fruit and nectar eating bats are responsible for pollination and seed dispersal of many tropical fruits, sugar cane and the agave cactus- the prime ingredient of tequila! Don’t forget to vote for your favourite cocktail or mocktail. Prizes to be won. Once you have four or more stamps, photograph or scan your bat passports and send to secretary.batsoc@gmail.com or show us at the Bat Festival or the Bat cave at Ecofiesta. Meeting a bat up close is a way of personalising your FoxTail. If trying out the FoxTail in Kuranda, visitors can take up the option to meet bats at BatReach. While you get a close-up and personal visit with a bat, the bats will only be handled by trained and experienced people. No visitors can get close enough to touch bats. All bat handling is undertaken according to ABS protocols.
