Turn your recycling into food for bats 🦇
Recycling your eligible drink containers through Containers for Change is a simple way to support bats in care.
Each eligible container is worth 10 cents, and when you donate your refund to BatSoc, those funds go directly toward feeding and caring for bats being rehabilitated in Far North Queensland.
How to donate your containers to BatSoc
School and unattended drop-off bins
If you are using a school-based or unattended Containers for Change drop-off bin, your bag must be labelled so your refund is donated correctly.
👉 Print and attach this label to your bag before dropping it off.
The label includes:
- BatSoc’s Scheme ID
- A barcode and QR code that tells Containers for Change where the refund should go
If bags are not labelled, the refund may not be allocated to BatSoc.

Staffed Containers for Change depots
If you are visiting a staffed Containers for Change depot, you do not need to print or attach a label.
Simply:
- Tell staff you would like to donate to a cause and select
Bats and Trees Society of Cairns, or - Choose scheme and enter our Scheme ID:
C10663841
Staff will take care of the rest.
Thank you 💚
Every container makes a difference. Whether it’s a single bag or a full load, your recycling helps provide fruit, care supplies, and ongoing support for bats in care.
Thank you for recycling with purpose and helping protect bats.
